The most commonly used processes for mixing mixtures

1) Picking, Ventilation, Levitation, Sifting, Magnetic Separation and Flotation, used in the separation of heterogeneous mixtures consisting of two solid components.

Catation: It is a simple process of separating solids into a heterogeneous mixture. The grains or fragments of one of the components are picked by hand or tweezers.

Ventilation: Ventilation is used to separate less dense solids, passing through the mixture a draft that drags the lightest.

Levocation: a mixture of water is passed through the mixture and it drags the lightest.

Magnetic separationA magnet is passed through the mixture, if one of the components has magnetic properties, it will be attracted to the magnet.
